Kendra started at Cedar Valley in November 2017 and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Because there isn't only one approach that works for every person, Kendra draws upon over 10 years of experience in the field of psychology and works collaboratively with clients in order to find the best strategies for the individual, time, or situation. The majority of her training has revolved around the following modalities: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), and group therapy settings. Kendra is also a certified instructor for Prepare/Enrich Inventories for Premarital and Marital Counseling. Areas of interest primarily include substance abuse disorders in adults and adolescents (including co-occurring substance use and mental health issues), affective disorders such as anxiety and depression, children and families, autism spectrum/ developmental disorders, and health and wellness.
