Parenthood changes everything—including how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. I support mothers and parents in navigating the emotional realities of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood with compassion and care.

Elizabeth “Liz” Adedokun, PhD, LMFT, PMH-C is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified perinatal mental health specialist through Postpartum Support International. She supports mothers and parents navigating pregnancy, postpartum transitions, and the emotional adjustments that often accompany early parenthood.

Dr. Liz works closely with clients experiencing postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum PTSD, postpartum OCD, birth trauma, identity shifts after becoming a parent, attachment concerns, and relationship changes following the arrival of a baby.

She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a trauma-informed therapy that can help parents process difficult birth experiences, pregnancy loss, medical trauma, and other overwhelming events that may occur during the perinatal period.

Dr. Liz holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University and a Doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy from Drexel University. She has over 12 years of clinical experience and is actively involved with Postpartum Support International, advocating for increased awareness and support for perinatal mental health.

Her therapeutic approach is attachment-focused, trauma-informed, and relational, recognizing that the transition to parenthood often brings forward our earliest experiences of care, connection, and belonging. She works collaboratively with clients to help them make sense of these experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, and reconnect with their inner strength.
